HELLLOOOO from Sydney Australia :) We made it. Yes, indeed we are alive.
Not sure how or if we can upload pictures yet, but that will be better for later anyways.
After the longest day of travel ever. We started off at the Toronto airport originally on a flight to Chicago, onto a flight to San Fran, which would go to Sydney. Unfortunately "all flights to Chicago are now cancelled" were the first words we heard after going through customs. Due to a lovely icestorm, we were not able to fly until 6:30pm that night to LA, small stop over and onto Sydney straight from LA. 14 hours later we got to Sydney. This was after Kat had a slight breakdown about the "giant flying apartment" in which we were travelling in. Longest flight ever. We pretty much slept the whole way there, give or take a few hours of mini dance parties in the back of the plane and stretching in the aisles.
Finally we arrived in Sydney this morning just after 8:00am. We were a bit late arriving and on a different flight so didn't get the chance to meet up with Kath. We will party with her soon though.
We spent the day exploring Sydney. Hitting up some sweet italian cafe, the harbour and "the oldest pub in Sydney" where we started talking to an American couple telling us all about their journies. Basically got completely pumped up about the next 5 months of our lives. We got to see the botanical gardens where giant bats were in the trees and this giant pyramid that looked like the daft punk one, with bushes that spelled "SEX + DEATH". It was amusing to say the least.
Everything is intact, we are staying in a nice hostel called "wake up!" for 25dollars australian just for tonight and onto Melbourne tomorrow. We purchased 5000km ticket pass from greyhound today that we will be using for the entire time we're in Australia.
We look forard to our 10hour bus trip tomorrow so we can get to Melbourne on time for DAFT PUNK...!!!! WOOP. Good way to start the trip! Check soon we will let you know how that goes....

Well done! The first day is the hardest! Sleeping on a bus is even more fun than sleeping on a plane!!
Chicago is a deathtrap. Ok - more like a major urban centre and a hub of worldwide travel - that's what I call a deathtrap.
As long as you don't get scabies, you're all good.
Sounds like your off and running already. Expect to see some pics soon. Enjoy the concert!!
